JpGU and AGU Partnership

JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting 2017

In May 2017, JpGU and AGU will hold the first joint meeting of the two societies covering all areas of the Earth and space sciences with more than 150 sessions to be conducted in English. The meeting is expected to have 7,000-9,000 scientists from around the globe. The theme for the meeting is “For a Borderless World of Geoscience”.

Submit an abstract

AGU members: To submit an abstract, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Submit an Abstract button above and log in to your AGU account. If you are not a member in good standing, you will be prompted to join AGU or renew your membership.
  2. You will be passed to JpGU’s site where you will be asked to register for or confirm your JpGU ID. When you do this you will receive two emails at the account associated with your AGU ID; one containing your JpGU ID, and another containing your JpGU password.
  3. Log in to the Abstract Submission system at https://www.member-jpgu.org/jpgu/en with your JpGU ID and password to start submitting.

Student Travel Grants

Student travel grants will also be available. AGU will be taking applications for students who reside outside of Japan, and JpGU will be taking applications for those who reside in Japan.

JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting Student Travel Grant – Applications Open 31 January 2017; Close 1 March 2017

AGU and JpGU will hold a joint meeting in Japan in 2017. Student attendees who are presenting an abstract and are traveling from outside of Japan are eligible for $1000US travel grants to the conference. Learn more.

JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting Berkner Fellowship – Applications Open 31 January 2017; Close 1 March 2017

Early career scientists and students under 35 years of age who are citizens of countries designated by the World Bank as “low” or “lower-middle” income per capita may apply this travel fellowship which covers registration, travel, boarding, and meals for Fall Meeting.
